Former Worcester News Tonight News Anchor Jennifer Roy has opened a new Public Relations company in Worcester called Jen Roy PR. Jen Roy PR is a socially progressive boutique firm that focuses on promoting businesses and training executives through the following services:
- Media Relations
- Creative Event Planning
- Executive Training for Public Speaking and Media Interviews
- Corporate Social Responsibility Consulting
- Video Production for On-Line Marketing
In her inaugural month, Jennifer has secured clients ranging from local businesses looking to revive their marketing campaigns to non-profits requiring expertise in event planning. Jennifer also represents artists and entertainers and will soon be specializing in promoting economic growth for niche markets. In September, Jennifer will bring tailored curriculum and professional seminars to students in area high schools and colleges considering careers in Communications.
A wealth of experience…Jennifer brings a wealth of experience to her new venture. A former Broadcast Journalist and News Anchor at Charter TV 3’s Worcester News Tonight, Roy reported on news in Central MA for nearly a decade. In 2009, she won a New England Cable Television Award for her story on Autism in Worcester. The Worcester native became a familiar face throughout the region and was regularly asked to host community events including political debates and highly attended annual fundraisers. Roy has thrived on-camera and in front of crowds and has lead classes in broadcast journalism and public speaking at institutions including Assumption College.
Jennifer also enjoyed success as Senior Communications Consultant at Unum in Worcester. There she led the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts, creating their largest employee initiative to date: an unprecedented partnership with South High Community School in Worcester. In addition, Jennifer organized internal and external events for Unum handling all logistics (travel, parking, venues, caterers, security, media) and managing employee volunteers and community partners.
Jennifer’s passion for community service continued to ignite at Unum and in 2011 she co-founded the Young Professional Women’s Association. Her proudest accomplishment is helping to raise $85,000 for pancreatic cancer research and treatment through her event, Karaoke for a Cure. An advocate of holistic healing, Jennifer regularly leads free meditations for the public at locations throughout Central MA.
